Music for SYNC

Flip Fantazia is a meeting of two minds, four hands, several synths, quite a few guitars, some incredible computer software with a variety of drum machines (oh.... plus a friend who’s a real drummer & happens to be one of the best in the business, take a bow Tristan Banks). The prolific duo spend their time writing, recording, producing, mixing and mastering original music down in an old bank vault in Brighton... well, Hove actually!  Their names.. Douglas Horner & Tim Belcher.

Tim, better known on the music scene as Timo Garcia (for House & Techno) or NOLAN for his deeper more melodic dance grooves, or even T_Mo  for his laid back, blissed out ambient vibes. It was in fact under his T_Mo guise that his love for making music for TV & sync began. Having produced three albums for Deep East Music some of which then featured on numerous episodes of Masterchef, Sky News, Channel 4's Dispatches, The One Show on BBC 1 and even X-Factor Australia. Having turned his attention to writing music specifically aimed at TV/film/games/ads, Tim went on to write a Tropical Pop album and a 14 track Electro Swing album for BMG Production Music with the help of some delightful vocalists. It was at this point the name Flip Fantazia was born and the co-production and writing began with long time friend and music aficionado Douglas. Still with us? Good, there's more...!

Douglas began his music career in the early 00’s playing in a number of bands including Shaznay Lewis, Emma Bunton (yes that one!), and also supported The Streets and The Neptunes. Over the years Douglas has worked and written with many. producers and artists including Alexander O’Neal, Andy Wright (Simple Minds, Simply Red, Tom Jones, Eurythmics) Al Stone (Jamiroquai, Sting, Kelis) Ned Douglas (Celine Dion, Elvis Costello, Anastasia, No Doubt), Frankie Goes To Hollywood, UNCLE, Average White Band, Daniel Beddingfield, Alicia Dixon. He has been invited to play his compositions at numerous private celebrity events including The Saatchis, Macintyre Entertainment and the private  home of Roger Taylor (Queen) to perform original material in-front of the likes of Brian May, William Orbit and Elton John.

Their first project together as Flip Fantazia was to create an authentic 60s sounding Samba song and a Boogaloo/Salsa for Ninja Tune’s new production music company both of which appear on their new Latin Excursions album. Along with a contemporary Breaks/Glitch remix of the classical masterpiece Flight Of The Bumblebee and a piece of funk with a Foodie flavour for two other Ninja Tune production music albums. Another brief came in for some Australian influenced Beach House from delimusic to be used on the BBC Commonwealth Games Gold Coast 2018 coverage, so out came the Didgeridoo and five new tracks were born. Their next brief was to convert a stunning piece of classical piano composed by Annabel Bennett into a Euphoric Trance anthem, and so it was done!

Writing to brief is a delight and an adventure for Flip Fantazia covering many genres from authentic Samba to electro disco new-wave post modern cosmic soul funk afro-boogie punk alt+indie dance crossover and everything in between.
